Question!: How long does it take to use a $240 Cold Stone Creamery gift card?

About two years ago, I won a years worth of Cold Stone Creamery in the form of a $240 gift card at an event at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. I was so happy to win the gift card because I LOVE ice cream (who doesn’t?), but I had just had a baby and was trying to LOSE weight! Lucky for us, it was during the winter, too cold to be going out for ice cream all of the time. We moved a few months later, so we didn’t have a Cold Stone Creamery close enough to go to all the time.
So, how long did it take us to spend $240 at Cold Stone Creamery? 1 year and 10 months! We just spent the last of it on our daughter’s birthday cake. I think we used the gift card on 6 ice cream cakes (all Strawberry Passion because it’s the yummiest ice cream cake EVER) and lots of Mud Pie Mojos, my favorite!
By the way, the Chicago Toy & Game Fair is November 17th and 18th this year at Navy Pier. We’ve had the pleasure of going the past 2 years, and it’s always a lot of fun! I’m really excited for this year now that Lia is old enough to enjoy it

Unilever (Breyers®, Popsicle®, Klondike®) provided me with free product coupons to try some of their ice cream offerings. We tried the Breyers® Blasts!™ REESE’S® Peanut Butter Cups, Popsicle® Jolly Rancher® Awesome Twosome, and Klondike® What the Fudge? Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich, and we loved them all! We’re suckers for sweets and ice cream in this household, and they all taste the way their name sounds like they’re going to taste, so we really had no complaints. Popsicle® may still need to work on their joke-writing though

Recipes & Coupons!: Starbucks Ice Cream

Did you know that you can get recipes to use with Starbucks Ice Cream online? I got really excited when I found these, so I thought I would share some of my favorite recipes.
COFFEE ICE CREAM MARTINIS
Moisten the rim of a chilled martini glass with water, and coat it with grated chocolate. Combine the following ingredients in a cocktail shaker:
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
- 1 cup softened Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream
- 1 cup ice cubes (about 6-8)
Shake the mixture, and strain it into 2 martini glasses.
VANILLA BEAN PARFAITS
Layer the following ingredients in a parfait glass or large wine goblet:
- Cubed, store-bought pound cake
- Sliced strawberries
- Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappuccino Ice Cream
- Chocolate syrup
Top with whipped cream.
JAVA CHIP SANDWICHES
- Remove the lid from a pint of Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino Ice Cream, and carefully cut through the carton with a serrated knife to make 4 even slices.
- Peel off the carton from each slice.
- Arrange 4 pizzelle cookies on a platter, layer a slice of ice cream on each cookie, and top each with another pizzelle cookie.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
If you’re going out to buy some Starbucks Ice Cream at the grocery store, make sure to bring these coupons with you (you’ll have to fill out a short form to get each coupon):

FREE Quart of Ice Cream for Blood Donors in IL & IN

Heartland Blood Centers is an independent not-for-profit blood center serving 38 hospitals in 12 counties including Kane, McHenry, DeKalb, Will, DuPage, Cook, Grundy, Kendall, Lee, Ogle, and LaSalle counties in Illinois; and Lake county in Indiana. They operate under a volunteer donor system, and work towards collecting more than 172,000 units of blood annually.
Now through August, Heartland Blood Centers is having their Pint-for-a-Quart promotion in which they are giving donors a certificate for a FREE quart of Oberweis ice cream (Ben & Jerry’s for those without an Oberweis in their area)!
