MY REVIEW:
The folks at iCaughtSanta provided me with a code for a free iCaughtSanta photo, and I had so much fun creating it! I figured since Little M isn’t quite old enough yet to know Santa, it would be cute to have her in the picture too :) I was pleasantly surprised at how many choices for Santa were available and liked how you could adjust Santa for the best look in your photo. I did, however, wish that there were more advanced editing options for Santa to match the lighting and resolution of my background photo more. I found the process incredibly simple and thought it was nice that you can also add a border to your photo, although I chose not to. The Santa videos were really cute too!

Review!: Lake County, IL Photographer BJ Aguado

Our daughter just turned 1 year old a couple of months ago, so we wanted to get some professional pictures taken. We really didn’t know where to go, so I posted on my Facebook page, asking for suggestions. To be honest, I expected to go to one of those picture studios at the mall, but I am so glad we didn’t! One of our friends from college suggested that we contact BJ Aguado, who is a local photographer out of Lake County, Illinois. We saw that his rates were very reasonable, so we decided to try him out.

Since we hadn’t ever had our pictures taken outside of the traditional studio, we really didn’t know what to expect. We are also fairly new to the area, so we really didn’t know where we wanted to go to have our pictures taken. BJ had us meet him at Independence Grove in Libertyville. It was absolutely beautiful, and we had some great shots!

We also were not too sure about how our daughter would do, especially since she decided not to take a nap that day! Luckily, she did great, and I think a huge part of it was that BJ was awesome with her! She’s had her picture taken by a “real” photographer once at a baby fair. Although the picture turned out nice, it really was because we were behind the photographer trying to make lil M smile. The photographer didn’t really interact with her and seemed more concerned with looking in the camera, than what lil M was doing. BJ, on the other hand, was great! We could tell that he has experience working with children. It was nice that throughout the shoot, particularly for our family pictures, he told us not to worry about what lil M was doing because he was able to make her smile to get the right shot. It may have also helped that BJ looks similar to lil M’s daddy, except taller, hehe.

With all of that being said, if you’re in the Lake County area in Illinois and need some photos taken, I highly recommend BJ Aguado Photography. Not only was he great with our family, but the photos turned out beyond our expectations! His packages start at $100 with different options for site locations including outdoor, his home studio, or your home. BJ also covers special events.
